Go into the world, go everywhere and announce the message of God’s good news to one and all
Milton Keynes is one of the fastest growing cities in the United Kingdom. In 2013 just over 255,000 people called Milton Keynes home. This is set to increase to over 300,000 by 2026. At the same time our city is becoming more and more diverse.
People not BuildingsAt Milton Keynes Christian Centre, we firmly believe the building of people is building the church and that will always be our focus: people before buildings. But our history has also taught us that buildings are a great blessing and tool for us to use in the mission of Christ. This year we are looking to invest £22,000 into people & projects in our church. Our building is where we the church gather and celebrate Jesus, hearing the teaching of God’s Word. It is where we invest in the lives of children so they can dig deeper and discover Jesus for themselves. Where volunteers buddy up each week with children who have additional needs so they too can get to know Jesus. Where young people develop relationships and get to know that Jesus loves them deeply. Where seniors enjoy each other’s company, where families are served by the Foodbank, where people are prayed for, marriages are healed and lives are changed.
However, there are times when we have to invest in the maintenance of the building and the development of our equipment. So this year as part of our all in church fund we are asking for £10,000 to do this.
The original MKCC building, where Discovery Kids meet now, is over 30 years old, and some of the plant and machinery is getting to the end of its lifespan. It needs a little investment to keep it functioning well for the next 30 years. These are projects that hardly anyone will ever see but our kids, senior citizens and the other users of the Discovery Suite would feel it if the boilers packed up on a cold winters day. So this year, as last year, part of the All In fund will assist us in replacing significant infrastructure to keep our building serving the church and community so well.
We are passionate about making the next generation’s experience of the church the most exciting, fun and stimulating time of their week. So, this year, we are looking to invest £3,500 upgrading our technology for Discovery Kids. This includes a mixing desk, microphones and an amplifier, which will help serve DK, with an added benefit for Time Out - our over 60’s ministry, and our conferencing department.
We not only believe in the local church we believe in the Church worldwide. That’s why we have developed Equip. Through Equip we:
- Coach pastors
- Develop leaders through conferences and training
- Equip them by giving away all the resources we have created
Many churches in the UK are not blessed with volunteers, staff, resources and finance in the way we are and we want to equip them to reach people for Jesus. Churches from the UK, Brazil, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Philippines, and more, have downloaded free resource from the equip website.
Through equip, churches are able to access resources completely free and it’s so exciting that we get to be able to do this and partner with churches across the world. As part of our All In church fund, we are looking invest £2,500 into this ministry.
Children & Youth
We are blessed with incredible children’s and youth ministries here at Milton Keynes Christian Centre. Each year we have the opportunity to take children and young people on a life-changing experience at summer camp. This summer, we were able to send 150 children and young people to summer camps. Many of them wouldn’t be able to afford to go to camps without support. So we are asking for a sum of £6,000 to create a bursary fund to ensure that no child or young person miss out on this catalytic experience in their spiritual walk.
What would this look like for you:
- £240 or £20/month opens the door for someone to attend camp.
- £10,000 or £830/month will upgrade the Tiny Steps & Discovery Suite heating system
- £500 or £40/month will purchase a new amplifier
- £120 or £10/month will provide a free children's teaching series for download
